Vegan Avocado Lime Margarita Recipe
Total time = 5-10 minutes
With this vegan avocado lime margarita recipe, you won’t need to feel bad about having a drink on Taco Tuesday or any other day of the week. After trying Placemat’s recipe, I made a few ‘tweaks’ to help balance out the sour and sweetness of the drink. Here is my recipe for this healthier alternative margarita:
Serving Size
5-6 ten ounce glasses
Ingredients
1.5 ripe avocados
Freshly squeezed lime juice (8 limes)
2 tablespoons of agave syrup (you can also replace this with honey or you can add both, 1 tbsp agave and 1 tbsp honey)
Tequila
My choice = Jose Cuervo or Casamigos
Salt or red pepper flakes.
Instructions
1. Make sure your avocados are ripe before cutting and tossing them in the blender.
2. Juice 8 limes and add to the blender. A necessity in my house is a lime/lemon juicer. It will make this step quicker and easier.
3. For this step, you can either add 2 tablespoons of agave syrup or add 1 tablespoon of agave and 1 tablespoon of honey. I prefer to add in the honey because the sweet taste helps balance out the sour taste of the lime.
4. Add your preferred amount of tequila. Because this recipe serves 5-6 glasses, I add 6-8 ounces of tequila. (One margarita usually consists of 1.5 ounces of tequila.)
5. For a more creamy, smoothie texture, add more ice and less water. For a less creamy texture, add less ice and more water.
6. Blend together.
7. You can choose to either salt your rim or add red pepper flakes to your rim.
8. Serve and enjoy!
