Cheese-Shell Tacos
Total Time = 10 minutes
If you’re looking for a low-carb, low-sugar tortilla replacement for your Taco Tuesday’s (or if you just really like cheese) then this is the recipe for you! This recipe is extremely quick and easy. I started using this technique when I was on the keto diet, since cheese is “keto-friendly”.
Ingredients
Depending on how many shells you are making, half a cup of cheese makes one shell.
I prefer to use cheddar cheese.
Parchment paper
A muffin pan or 2 cups and a spoon.
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375º
2. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. This is important because if you forget to spray, the cheese is going to stick to the paper.
3. Place half a cup mounds of cheese on your baking sheet and put in the oven for 6 minutes.
4. When the timer is up, you can choose to do this next step in two ways; on a muffin tray (this is how I do it), or with 2 cups and a spoon. Transfer the cheese mounds to the muffin tray or spoon and let it cool. The purpose of this step is to form the shape of your taco shell and it should be done as soon as the cheese is finished.
5. Once your cheese is cool, it will be able to hold its shape. Now you are ready to build your taco!
You can also use this recipe in the morning by replacing your bread with cheese for your breakfast sandwich!
