Mariah’s DIY ‘Self’-Care Christmas Package
The holidays are here! And if you’re like me and looking to give gifts on a budget (but still want to go all out because your love language is gift giving) then I have the perfect gift for you! I actually made this for my mom for Christmas (and mom if you’re reading this before then just leave this page now, thanks) who gave me this idea because she is always asking me about my website and why I use this product and what is the purpose of putting this on my skin or not and so on and so on. So I decided to make a ‘Self’-Care Christmas package. If you’re familiar with the purpose of a regular ‘care package’, which is a parcel of items sent to a loved one, then this is the beautified version of it filled will all items for a little bit of self-care. The amount of product ideas are endless so this article is to give you a basis on some staple items you can include in your ‘self’-care Christmas package.
1. Who doesn’t love slippers?! A slippers and/or robe set can be one of your main larger items to include in your package because who wouldn’t want to be comfy while they are doing the rest of their self-care routine?
2. I also added a small makeup/travel bag in the package, which obviously has its own purpose, but can display your smaller self-care items included in your package.
3. Included in this small makeup bag, is a neutral color lip liner (from Ulta, $2), a electric eyelash curler (from Amazon, $11), and Cetaphil’s Hydrating Eye Cream (from Target, $13).
4. As discussed in my “Inside my Skincare Routine” featured under beauty, I talked about how makeup removing wipes can be harsh on the skin and some are filled with chemicals and fragrance which can cause breakouts. I instead use cleansing water to clean my skin morning and night and it does wonders for hybrid, sensitive skin. I added this to the package and included a sleeve of cotton pads (from Target, $2), too!
5. A Roller and Gua Sha Set: I talked about the benefits of using a gua sha to help naturally contour your face in my “All Natural Face Lift” article under beauty. You can purchase a set from Amazon, or if the delivery time is not quick enough, Marshalls or TJMaxx sell them as a set ($10).
6. Exfoliating kit: Exfoliation is the process of ridding the top layer of our skin from dirt and dead skin cells. Tree Hut’s Shea Sugar Scrubs sells a mini or travel size exfoliating scrub perfect for your package (from Target, $3)! An additional add is an exfoliating towel or gloves which can be used to apply your scrub to areas of your body (from Target, $5).
7. Mini Powder Collagen: Vital Proteins is selling the cutest mini travel collagen which is a great add to your package. As discussed in my “Collagen – What is it?” article, collagen helps your skin, hair, and nails grow stronger and helps to alleviate pains in your knees and joints. It can easily be added to a glass of water, your coffee/tea, or protein shake/smoothie. I purchased the mini size from Target for $13!
8. Microfiber Hair Towel: Drying our hair with a microfiber hair towel helps prevent it from breakage. You can also use it to scrunch curly hair and set it in place with gel hair products. Marshalls/TJMaxx sell different colors and styles that can be added to your package. You can also purchase it off of Amazon ($6).
9. Essential Oils for Aromatherapy: A great gift to help with stress, anxiety, focus, and more. Can be added to an oil diffuser or applied to your chakras when diluted with another oil. Shop in local health & wellness stores or purchase right here on Muse ($5)!
And of course you have to purchase the basket to put your items in and make it look all pretty. I purchased a small basket from TjMaxx for $8 and used clear wrapping paper to wrap, finishing off with a holiday ribbon. I would love to see what products you add to your holiday ‘Self’-Care packages so tag me on IG @musebymariah_.
