“Salt of the Earth”, “Feet planted firmly in the ground.” Earth signs are the ‘builders’ of the zodiac. They are stable, grounded, dependable, committed, and strong. They are all about creating or building a comfortable surrounding environment. This also includes their inner circle. They feel a heightened sense of responsibility to take care of the people closest to them. “Earth is most connected to the physicality of life. Earth isn’t aggressive, it’s receptive.” The Earth is our foundation in life, which explains why Earth signs are the most ‘durable’ out of the elements. Earth signs are also more intune with their “physical” senses, grasping the concept of ‘materialism’ in the natural world.
Earth signs feel best when they have their hands on tangible rewards. This leads them to come off as ‘greedy’, ‘too materialistic’, and ‘narrow minded’. They can also become so caught up in their own achievements, that they forget the feelings of others. “It is a big picture, after all, but these folks may be more concerned with the finish line than the journey they are taking.” When they have a goal in mind, they are determined, but stubborn to achieve it. It’s as if they want to skip everything in between in order to get there.
Earth signs react to love in the same way, they take awhile to figure out whether they like you or not, but once they know, they are fully committed. They aren’t into aimless dating and would rather take their time finding someone who is genuine than rushing into a relationship.

Taurus (April 20-May 20):
Taurus is the sign that “harvests the fruits of labor”. Sun signs in Taurus are the most ‘sensual’ and ‘reliable’ of the zodiac. They are ruled by Venus, the planet that governs love, beauty, gratitude, and money. Taurus is represented by the ‘bull’ “Like their celestial spirit animal, Taureans enjoy relaxing in serene, bucolic environments, surrounded by soft sounds, soothing aromas, and succulent flavors.” They are reliable, smart, and trustworthy. They also like to be ‘drama free’ and avoid unnecessary confrontation. They are extremely dedicated to their friends and family. Many of the connections they make will be lifetime connections.
Taureans are hard-workers and they love to make money. They are financially organized and are ‘savers’ rather than ‘spenders’. They also are passionate and determined. Whenever they have a job or task at hand, they won’t stop until it is complete, making excellent employees. “The search for material pleasures and rewards is an actual need to build their own sense of value and achieve a satisfying luxurious, yet practical way of life.”
In love, Taurus looks for honesty and loyalty, starting at the very first date. They may come off as a little ‘much’ because they aren’t about having ‘flings’, but instead are looking for someone who they see themselves with in the long term. If they are getting a good vibe from you, it will take them time to fully open up. Virgo (August 23-September 22):
Virgos are known to be one of the most ‘careful’ signs of the zodiac. They are smart, sophisticated, and hardworking. They are ruled by Mercury, the planet that governs communication. Virgo is represented by the goddess of wheat and agriculture, “an association that speaks to Virgo’s deep-rooted presence in the material world.” Virgos can come off as shy at first, this is because they are deeply analyzing every situation they are in. “This earth sign is a perfectionist at heart and isn’t afraid to improve skills through diligent and consistent practice. Virgo rules the digestive system, which makes these earth signs especially attuned to the ingredients that make up a whole — in food and in everything else. They're hyper-aware of every detail.”
Virgos give excellent advice and always know how to solve a problem. This gives them an edge with their relationships with people, but this can also be a downfall. Virgos tend to overanalyze, leading them to search for the smallest problems everywhere and in everyone. They treasure and care deeply for the people closest to them. But, once a Virgo starts questioning your genuineness and intent, they will leave you just as they found you.
Virgos are easy to love, but this doesn’t mean they will make it easy for you. Capricorn ( December 22-January 19):
Capricorn is the sign that represents ‘time’ and ‘responsibility’. They are independent, smart, and fully in control of their future. Capricorn’s are ruled by Saturn, the planet that governs time and restrictions of all kinds. Being ruled by Saturn has a major influence on this sign. It makes them responsible, but at the same time cold and distant. “Saturn's transits always teach us tough lessons, but Capricorn is no stranger to growing pains.” Capricorn is represented by the sea goat, a “mythological creature with the body of a goat and tail of a fish.” This role shows how Capricorns are “skilled at navigating both the material and emotional realms.”
Capricorns are loyal and reliable, making extremely good friends and family members. Capricorns are said to “age backwards” as they experienced many memories growing up that weren’t all that great. Because of their past, they needed to develop a strong mentality during their youth, and as they get older, they are able to open their eyes more to the good things in life.
Capricorns are very guarded in relationships. In the beginning, they will have their walls high, but once they feel comfortable with you, they will completely open up. They need loyalty and honesty and they focus on creating relationships that will last a lifetime. “Shown sensitivity comes through acts rather than words, and years are often needed for them to open enough to chat about their actual emotional problems.”
Capricorn is part of the ‘cardinal’ signs, meaning they are naturally ambitious and are always taking initiative. They are very hardworking, always getting the job done no matter how hard the situation is. At times, Capricorns can be perceived as cold, distant, and unemotional. They can go MIA for hours or sometimes days even and forget about the things happening around them.
