Learn about Fire Signs
Fire signs are passionate, determined, and may come off as a little aggressive. Most commonly known for having a ‘fiesty’ or ‘fiery’ personality. Fire signs are focused on themselves and their self-image. We (I am a fire sign) don’t need anything or anyone to light that ‘spark’ under us because it comes naturally. “The element of Fire is, without a doubt, the most active, self-motivated, high spirited and animated force.” We carry ourselves on such a high pedestal, radiating courage and confidence wherever we go. Once we feel that source of inspiration or a new creative idea brewing, we go after it until we achieve it. It is said that fire signs have a ‘sixth sense’ for opportunities that aid in their successes in life.
People who try to control us will fail and anybody that gets in the way of our goals or ambitions will no longer be a part of the picture.
The people closest to us know how loyal, caring, and compassionate we are. Behind our image of fire, ego, and strength is a heart of gold.
On the flip side, our pride and ego can sometimes get in the way of reality. We don’t like to show our weaknesses or come off as vulnerable so instead we try to hide it by displaying strength. This is our natural instinct, but there is going to come a time when we have to put our guard down and face things head on. At times, we may hurt people's feelings because of our ‘blunt’ and ‘honest’ nature. As they say, if you can’t take the heat, get out the kitchen.
Aries (March 20-April 19):
Aries is the first astrological sign in the zodiac and the start of ‘new beginnings’. Ruled by Mars, making it one of the most active zodiac signs in desires, passion, and anger. Aries are also part of the astrological ‘cardinal’ signs which are associated with characteristics like trendsetters, creative thinkers, and are naturally ambitious. Aries is symbolized by the Ram, “a ram’s horn is part of a cornucopia, the “horn of plenty”, symbolizing abundance.”
We are natural born leaders, who often will take control in any project thrown our way. We are known to have an explosive temper and are set off easily, although the outburst won’t last long. “The Sun in such high dignity gives them excellent organizational skills, so you'll rarely meet an Aries who isn't capable of finishing several things at once.” Our moody, impatient attitudes may get in the way of things and we might come off as selfish and rude.
Aries like to be the one to give orders instead of receive. We know what we want and we go after it. Our greatest achievements come from our careers and money. Because of our dominating, outgoing, and aggressive personalities, in our eyes, nothing is impossible. When handed a problem, we can always come up with a solution to solve it. We aren’t afraid of competition. Our competitiveness drives our successes.
We are socialites who know when to separate work from play. Aries are clear and direct with their communication which leads to many friendships, relationships, and acquaintanceships. But, once the communication, trust, or loyalty is broken, the relationship will be cut short and you’ll easily be forgotten. Having a friend who is an Aries means that you are able to match their level of personality and drive.
Aries are easy to love once the feelings are reciprocated. At times, we may even love TOO hard, creating clingy and/or jealous tendencies when we start to question the connection. We are passionate, energetic, and love new adventures. When we feel love, we don’t question it, and we express it through our words and actions. Whether male or female, they will take the alpha spot in the relationship. You won’t have to question an Aries’ loyalty to you.
Leo (July 23-August 22):
Leo’s are ruled by the Sun, embracing their fiery personas by governing life and vitality through their exuberance and energy-driven personalities. Leo is symbolized by a Lion and known to be “Kings and Queens of the jungle” because they always carry themselves on the highest of thrones. They are passionate, independent, dramatic, and at times, they can come off as ‘divas’. They love the attention on them at all times. They are also natural born leaders who need to surround themselves with people on the same intellectual level as them.
“In tarot, Leo is represented by the ‘strength’ card, which depicts the divine expression of physical, mental, and emotional fortitude.” Once they find what they are passionate about, giving up is never an answer for Leos. They, like Aries, want to be put into leadership positions when it comes to work.
Their weaknesses include self-sabotage, because they are so focused and consumed on themselves, it is easy for them to neglect the other people surrounding them. They also would rather be in charge of everything than to have to report to somebody. Their ‘lazy’ mentality leads them to think that things will be handed to them on a silver platter. Their ego, pride, and jealousy issues arise when they feel they aren’t getting the recognition they deserve.
Leos are loyal, honest, and dedicated partners in relationships and friendships. “The Leo sign governs the heart.” They have a natural instinct to always help others, even if it comes down to their last dollar. They are always surrounded by people and are able to bring unity into different situations. They are extremely independent and need to have a partner who can be understanding of this and/or match this energy. At times, they will try to take control of the relationship one sidedly. They like dates that are thought of outside the box, such as a theater trip, museum, etc.
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21):
Sag’s are ruled by Jupiter, the largest planet in the zodiac, the planet of abundance, spirituality, and growth. They are the biggest ‘travelers’ and are always seeking truth in the world, constantly on a quest to obtain more knowledge. Sagittarians are optimistic, enthusiastic, and are easily adaptable to change. “Sagittarius-born are able to transform their thoughts into concrete actions and they will do anything to achieve their goals.” Sagittarius are symbolized by the centaur “Chiron”, a learned healer whose higher intelligence forms a bridge between Earth and Heaven.
They are also known as the ‘happy’ sign of the zodiac. Sagittarians are known to have a great sense of humor and can carry on conversations forever. They love to laugh and can always find themselves drawing in a crowd, surrounded by people.
Like all fire signs, when they know what they want, they won’t stop until it is achieved. For their career, they want a job that they can learn from and won’t be stuck behind a desk. It will involve traveling and a dynamic atmosphere. Sag’s are easily adaptable and flexible to their environments and situations they’re in.
Their weaknesses include false promises. Sometimes, they are unable to live up to the expectation and reality they portray. They also ‘bite off more than they can chew’, which can lead to problems in their life. Sag’s also have to watch what they say and when they say it because they don’t have a filter and can be very ‘blunt’. “Though they know a lot, they don’t know everything — and if they're not careful, they can come off as pretentious or arrogant.”
Sagittarians seek that eternal love and partner for life. They want someone to come along for all the adventures and thrill-seeking expeditions. Matching a Sag’s humor and adventurous characteristics in a relationship is the key for success. When they’re truly in love, they are loyal and dedicated to their partner.
