ALL ABOUT THE MOON, pt 1.

A quick and easy guide by an astrology lover.

The Moon is a very important element in astrology. It is one of the’ big three’ from our birth chart (Sun sign, Moon sign, Ascendent sign). Typically, your moon sign deals with your inner emotions and your inner self. So, whatever planet your Moon is in, should answer a lot of questions about your feelings and how you deal with them. Do a quick search of your birth chart to see what your Moon sign means for you!

We’re going to quickly dive into the phases of the actual Moon and what it means when the Moon is in the different planets also known as the Moon's Ingress by Sign, which typically changes about every two days. As I said in the beginning, the Moon is very important to astrologers and for spiritual practices. People use the Moon phases when they bind to the specific phase the Moon is in, as a way to cleanse one’s soul (to clear any unwanted, unbalanced negative energy) and to strengthen their manifestations, as well as set any important affirmations they want to come their way. The Moon’s revolution is about a month, exactly 29 and ½ days long, broken up into different phases, which hold different meanings and intentions. Each phase holds a special, and different, mark on your body. Now, I am not an astrologer and I have just begun my spiritual journey, but even I can recognize that this is a very powerful tool! Once you are knowledgeable about the Moon and her phases, you will see that embodying the powerful meanings will help with any intentions you may want to set for your Self and your healing.

MOON PHASES

New Moon

During the New Moon, the Moon is positioned between the Sun and the Earth, which makes it hard for us to see this phase, most of the time. New Moon often holds a significance to new beginnings.

Waxing Crescent

The term 'waxing' means that the Moon is "growing" in terms of her light that we see from Earth and because it's a little less than the half moon, we use the term 'crescent' to describe this phase. Waxing Crescent often means manifestation, purpose, goal.

First Quarter Moon

The First Quarter Moon is the half moon. Half of the Moon is lit for us to see. This phase is very important as it often means a decision is having to be made. It also could signify a cross-roads.

Waxing Gibbous

We see 'waxing' again, so the moon is showing more of her light. 'Gibbous' means that we see more than half of the Moon. This phase represents clarification, cleansing, and filtering.

Full Moon

The entire Moon is illuminated. This phase typically means manifestations and purposes must be sealed. People often feel relieved or a weight lifted from their shoulders during this phase.

Waning Gibbous

When the Moon is ‘waning’, her light is becoming less visible to us. This phase signifies appreciation and respect.

Third Quarter

The Moon is yet again half illuminated. This phase usually equates to forgiveness and understanding.

Waning Crescent

The Moon is yet again showing less and less of her light, this time only less than half of the Moon is lit. This time usually represents letting go, surrendering, and giving in.

The Moon then returns back to the New Moon phase, which restarts the cycle and new beginnings come to us again

Monday, June 15th 2020 - The Moon will be on Waning Crescent. Surrender that unwanted energy you may have that is holding you back. Let go of any unwanted fear. Take five, long deep breaths. You have a new beginning coming soon.
